Below is information provided by Teton County residents who are registered Democrats running for town office.
I am running for the Jackson Town Council. As a Jackson native I am excited to invest my time and energy working for the people of Jackson. I will work to provide a positive voice to our community dialogues in a way that improves the place that we call home.
I feel that: We live in an incredible community of people in an incredible place. I want to advance our conversation beyond arguments for and against growth to conversations that do justice to us as community members and our legacy of conservation.” We can do better aligning our priorities, such as housing, wildlife and transit, with how we manage public resources to pay for these wants and needs. We should view our community discussions through a lens of community first rather than resort only and be sure that we are looking to reinforce a community of people and place.”
Jessica sees a Jackson that is whole and compassionate, where the people who work hard for Jackson can call it home. The valley remains at a tipping point: it can turn towards the community and build it up or watch Jackson become a ghost town as the working people are forced to move away. When people say not everyone can afford to live here what they’re saying is they prefer big, beautiful empty houses with the lights on for only a few weeks here and there. That’s no community. Keeping Jackson whole is not impossible, but it requires electing someone who believes it’s possible, who will make decisions that will help the people who aren’t billionaires. Jessica will work for the community we all love, the people who give the town its soul. Stand with her and the community and vote Chambers for Council on August 21st and again on November 6th.
